I had a Bridal Shower to go to this weekend for my friend Lauran. She lives in an area where she can walk or ride her bike to the store, so I decided a market bag was in order. I was already working on an Everlasting Bagstopper to use up some old cotton. I like the pattern, but I'm not liking how the colors are working out on that one. I decided to go the simple route on this one and do it in all white. I also used some cotton webbing that I had left over from another project for the straps instead of ribbon, hoping that will give it some added strength and stability (machine sewn…I hate hand sewing). Add the things I bought for her off her registry, a ribbon and some tissue paper, and the gift was complete!
It was well received and several people at the shower commented on it. We won't tell them my secret. I turned it inside out to weave in ends. When I went to attach the straps, I forgot to turn it right side out. So, you know it, it is technically wrong side out. I didn't have time to fix it (and didn't think that anyone else would know the difference).
Cute! And practical, too . . . I may have to make one of these for myself — we’re trying to Just Say No to plasic bags at our house, as much as we can.
Very nice! All white was a great choice for this. It looks beautiful – as does your new site design.
Awesome gifty!
How are the boys doing??
XOXOXO
What a great idea for a shower or housewarming gift!
