I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas (it’s basically a fancy die cut machine that will cut lots of materials), and have been putting it to work with all sorts of projects, but I think my favorite one is the holiday banner in our breakfast nook. It all started with making a banner for the Super Bowl. I didn’t want to worry about centering it, etc., so when I saw this banner with holes for the ribbon to go through, I decided that was the way to go.
I cut out all of the pieces on the Silhouette, just drawing the pennant flags with the software’s tools there and images found in their online store, and then C1 glued it all together. He had fun doing it, so when the Super Bowl was over and it was time to take it down, he asked if he could do one for Valentine’s Day. I think by the end of the year we will have a file of these that we can just change out on the same ribbon all year long.
Next up…St Patrick’s Day! I’m thinking I’ll have it say “Get Lucky” or “Luck o’ The Irish” with shamrocks, but I’m open to ideas.
