I was so busy crafting during the holidays that I didn't take the time to share any of the results. While it's late, I don't want to miss out on documenting these projects! This is one of my favorites, an apron for my co-worker & friend Diana who makes the most amazing cakes and is probably one of the most generous people I know. She's constantly baking for the office, and is the person who made me my Vera Bradley inspired cake for my birthday.
I wanted to make a combination craft apron/baking apron for her, with lots of pockets so she could keep all of her cake decorating supplies handy. I used the apron pattern from the Amy Butler "In Stitches" book and modified the pocket. I learned how to do pleats in this project, and was reminded of how important it is that I follow directions when sewing even when I don't instantly understand how they work.
She loved how it turned out (and so did I) and has already requested that I make one for her daughter so that she doesn't try to steal it.
Wow… That is so lovely! This whole sewing thing is really growling at the back of mind, threatening any day to take over!
cute cute apron!
