My Olympic Knitting is a Black Hole. First of all, it is a black blob of stockinette stitch, not conducive to progress photos at all. I may share one with you later just to prove my point. Secondly, I feel like I have knit on it quite a bit and am just now at the part where you increase after doing waist decreases. It is a black hole that has sucked up all my time with little progress to show for it. For those of you who could not follow my Olympic Indecision (hello, all of you, I couldn’t even follow it), I am knitting Alice from MagKnits out of stash yarn (must reduce the stash before Maryland in May). Anne Marie has helped dub my version a Punk Rock Alice, since it will be in black and pink. But, for now, it’s just black and boring. On the plus side, it is easy knitting for now, and soon I will be to the fair isle section. On the down side, I am going to need to do a whole heck of a lot of knitting this weekend to make adequate progress for the deadline. I just felt I should offer you an explanation for my lack of Olympic Progress posts. I guess it’s like being in the qualifying runs of the Olympics. You have to do them and do them well, but most people don’t follow them very closely because it’s not the medal round. The Fair Isle section will be my medal round…but then I’ll enter my second event, sleeves.
Good luck! it sounds like you’ve made a great start and it’s going to be gorgeous when you’re done. Don’t worry, you’ve got plenty of company in the non progress blogging – probably because everyone is knitting away madly trying to make the deadline.
