The blog picture drought is over and I can finally resume the ABC-Along with new pictures! Yes, we broke down and bought a new camera this weekend. We went to a couple of electronic stores first, with poor service and poor selections, and finally ended up at Sam’s where we found this little beauty. When I say little, I mean it, it’s a little bit bigger than a credit card and about as thick as ten credit cards. That means it will be easy to carry along! It met all of our requirements, and basically I’m just happy happy happy to not have to borrow a camera anymore to add pics to the blog.
And, because I just can’t wait, I have had much olympic knitting progress this weekend. Alice is moving right along and has progressed past the black blob stage.
My colorwork is not perfect, but it is my first "fair isle" project, so I have to cut myself some slack. I must confess that I did nearly the entire colorwork band and had to rip it out. I didn’t read the chart well and ended up working the repeats all wrong and I didn’t realize it until I was almost finished. It was not a fun time, but it was good practice in getting my two-handed knitting going.
I decided to strand the whole thing, since the longest break in color is 8 stitches and the colors showed through when I floated them in the swatch I did. Hopefully, I will finish the back tonight and then the only thing standing between me and a gold medal will be sleeves.
Excellent progress! Go Olympic knathlete, Go!
Wow, I love the pink and black together! That’s such a pretty fair isle pattern. And your stranding looks so tidy.
