I haven’t sewn anything in a really long time. I don’t know why, I just haven’t found the time and rhythm to get it done lately. A few weeks ago I cut out the pieces for my Everyday Skirt. Christina had it on her “to make” list and I liked one that Jess made, so I decided to give it a go! Then this weekend I found myself with a few free hours on Sunday afternoon and now I have a new skirt!
Pattern: Everyday Skirt
Fabric: Cloud 9 Organic Cotton
This pattern was a great reintroduction into sewing. It was really easy to make and the instructions were very clear. I didn’t use two pieces of elastic because I didn’t have 1/2″ elastic, I only had 3/4″. Next time I’ll make sure I have the 1/2″ on hand. I will also make the waist a bit more snug. It fits great now but weight added to the pockets makes it a bit more saggy than I’d like.
I think I’m going to need this in at least two more versions. I wore it when I rode my bike to pick up C1 today and the length/fit makes riding short distances with it on possible which is important since I pick him up by bike each day. It is also really comfortable and a great staple for my wardrobe. Now I just need to figure out what fabric to make it in next!
Love it – that length is perfect for you!
This looks so cute!! Nicely done!
