Does anyone else find it ironic that when you have time to post, there's nothing to post about? Yet, when you have a lot to post about, you are too busy to post it?
Anyway, I am still a busy bee working on Christmas presents and I'm having so much fun with it! Sewing is definitely satisfying my desire for (almost) instant gratification these days. Over the last two days, I have been working on lavender eye pillows from this free pdf (sans the carrying case). Last night, I made the inserts, just out of some muslin I had in my very small fabric stash.
I filled mine with lavender buds and rice. I tested it last night and after popping it in the microwave for 30 seconds, it held heat pretty well and smelled so good. Then, tonight I made the covers. You can't see this from these pictures but the back have a pillow sham type closure, allowing the inserts to come out so you can wash the cover. Most of them have light pink fabric on the back, except for the teal one in the middle, which has chocolate brown fabric.
I'll be making more of these eventually, particularly one for me once Christmas is over! Hopefully, the recipients like them, too.
Next up, holiday baking and baking and baking. I have 2 cookie exchanges this weekend & a cookie competition on Monday, so if you smell something sweet, it's coming from my house. Any recipe suggestions?
