We’re Okay!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we're okay.  We are one of the lucky few households that have electricity in the area, making our house a shelter of sorts, so I'm spending my time hosting those that are staying with us and trying to make this whole experience as pleasant as possible.

Today, I have to go to work to help with the clean-up and assess the damage to my office.  My office building sustained the worst damage of all of the offices.  We don't have electricity and the electric companies are promising to have all power restored within 4 weeks!  Missing four weeks of school is crazy.  Normally time off work would be a good thing, but in this case, we're all anxious to resume our normal routine.

Living through this has been quite an experience.  We are blessed beyond belief to have only minor damage to our yard and fence and to have electricity already.  But, it is bazaar to be unable to get gas and go to the grocery store, much less go to a restaurant to have a meal.  It will be quite some time before the Houston area is "normal" again.  I will post as I can, though internet access is sketchy.  I just didn't want y'all to worry about us.

  1. Thanks for the update, I have been worried since I saw it did such damage in Houston. I am just glad Hubster was done with his time there. I hope life returns to normal soon.
