Small Parts Survival

So the furniture arrived around 3:45 yesterday and I immediately got to work on assembly.  Here’s what the room looked like before assembly.

That’s 500 pounds of fine furniture, if you include the mattress that was on the other side of the room.  Look at all these little parts, and that was just for the bed!

We built and built, until about 10:30 p.m. when we just had enough.  Luckily, there was only minor bickering during the assembly, so it went relatively smoothly.  Here are the results.

The bed, nightstands, & new bedding (yes there will be some log cabinning to match in the future)…

The dresser…

The entertainment center (also known as the empty side of the room…I think we need a chair or couch or something)…

Now to buy some things to go on the walls!

  1. oooohhh so pretty but I hate IKEA! we vowed never again after Gracie’s bedroom but we are so happy that Owen loves his tented loft bed from there.

  2. very cool!! can’t wait to see it in person…do you feel like a ‘grown up’ now with your own furniture instead of hand me downs? 🙂

  3. Hey Sarah!
I found your page linked to Ross’ so I thought I’d drop by and say hey. How you been? Please tell me you’ve parted with the evil bird that attacked Shauna. It had devileyes.
I feel your pain with the Ikea furniture (see my latest blog). I’ll be so glad when I’m done building, hammering and drilling!
    Hope all is well!
