Secret Agent

Well, I survived this week and hopefully the next will be much better because we’re on Vacation!  Today we will get in the car and drive to Fredericksburg, TX,  home of cute little shops, a bat cave, bed and breakfasts, biergartens and vineyards.  The catch is, the husband is unaware that this trip is occurring.  🙂  I hope he still hasn’t figured me out.  He keeps asking what we’re going to do today and such, which makes me think I’m still flying under the radar.  I’ve packed all our bags and they are in the trunk, the only thing I still have to smuggle out is our toiletry bag.  Oh, and I have to count on the husband not wanting to wear anything that I’ve already packed.  Today after church, we’re going to get in the car and he’s going to get a card that tells him we’re going on a trip.  I have magazines for him to read on the trip and clues for him along the way.  We have reservations at a cabin bed and breakfast and a nice restaurant tonight, then will be free to explore tomorrow and Tuesday.

I have to tell you, since many of you may not know this about me, I am not romantic.  I enjoy it when the husband is romantic, but don’t do much for him.  Operation Surprise Vacation is completely out of character for me.  Now I’m starting to fear that he will be upset with me.  We are supposed to go to a party this afternoon that we’re going to have to miss and sometimes he doesn’t like not knowing what’s going on.  Here’s hoping that he likes it!

We will be away from the computer until Wednesday.  While I’ll miss the blogisphere, I’m actually really excited about it.  The husband and I spend a lot of time on our computers doing various things (him more than me because I’m on the computer all day at work), so being without them for a couple of days will be kind of freeing.  Be back soon, with both vacation and knitting pictures and a happy ending (I hope!).

  1. Love Fredricksberg; went there for Spring break in 2004. Enjoy the beer and the bats and be sure to get some of those curly fries in Luckenbock

  2. Wow, Operation Surprise Vacation is supa-cool! It’s sounds like something Sidney would do for Michael Vaughn on Alias. I hope you watch that show, or else that will make no sense.

  3. Oooh, I can’t wait to hear about how Operation Surprise Vacation turned out! And if you enjoyed the B&B, would you send me the name of it? I’ve been trying to get the Hub to go down there for ages, and I think a cabin b&b might be just the thing . . .
