Knitting Continental

This week I upgraded our cable television for one reason only, Knitty Gritty. It’s the new knitting show on DIY network. I mainly just wanted to watch it since some of the bloggers are “knitsters” and I thought it would be fun to see them in action. But, I learned something in the very first show! I can now knit continental. Okay, so I’m not very good at it yet and haven’t found my rhythm, but I can see how it would be faster and easier on your hands. I’m working on a critter knitter’s blanket right now, so gauge is not a huge issue, so I’m using it to learn continental knitting.

In other news, we had dinner and coffee with some friends and their baby tonight (hi Brad and Carrie!). They will be venturing to another continent soon, China to be exact, so it was really fun to get to spend some time with them! I learn a lot everytime I’m around either of them, and it’s always good to be around people who challenge you. That’s pretty much been our weekend. Tommorow night we’re going to go shoot off fireworks with some friends my husband works with and then we’ll be exhausted at work on Monday since we’ll be out late acting like little kids. Hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July!
