Well, I made a decision about the sweater issue. Thanks for all of your suggestions, they really helped. I talked to him about it this morning. Basically he kept coming up with all sorts of things I could make him other than a sweater. I think he really will appreciate a blanket more because it was his idea, his suggestion. And, he doesn’t work in an environment where he can wear “nice” clothes because he messes them up pretty easily, which means he wouldn’t get much wear out of a sweater at this point. So, I’m going to suck it up and make him a blanket. He wants it to be really soft, any suggestions for yarn? I’m stuck on the type of yarn to use. I get to pick out the yarn and the colors and all of that so it really will be a surprise. I figure that I plan on knitting for quite a while, so someday he’ll request a sweater from me. Until then, I’ll enjoy making sweaters for myself. 🙂 We both win!
No pictures yet because this week I’ve been trying to catch up on life. It’s amazing the things you’ll neglect when you’re sick. I’m feeling much better, almost back to being myself. I’m also finished with my year of weddings. Over the past year, my husband and I have been in 7 weddings, not counting the ones we’ve attended. While I’m very honored that people have invited us to be a part of their special day, I’m SO glad that we are finished with that for now. I have one more to attend this summer and we don’t know of any others. I’m sure there will be more, but at least the wedding marathon is over. The only knitting that’s been happening this week is a Critter Knitter’s Blanket. I think this will be my last one as I promised that I would do charity knitting for the Afghan Along in July. I’m feeling really good about working through some of my stash and it gives me easy projects for times when I don’t feel like thinking. That’s been really handy in my “medicine head” state of the last week. Hopefully this weekend I’ll start on the last piece of Audrey (other than the neckband) and maybe put a new project on the needles!
Glad you are feeling better! Gosh, there are SO many soft wonderful yarns out there…does it need to be washable and easy care? That makes a BIG difference when choosing….sigh. I think for a project of this magnitude, it has to be something you LOVE knitting with 😉
Thanks for the sweet support. It means the world to me.
