Whew! What a weekend! I’m still recovering from the showers and the rehearsal not to mention the wedding! It was definitely a whirlwind, but all in all, I think the wedding was great. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun. Best of all, I got to wear my new Banana Republic dress (one of only two purchases I’ve ever made at that store, love it just can’t afford it most of the time) and Birch! The picture on the left is the back of birch, just to refresh your memory. And the picture on the right is me at the reception (I had already taken off the necklace I wore, it was pretty but not effective for holding friends’ babies).
I received a ton of compliments and lots of people didn’t believe me when I told them I had made it. It was great. I felt like I had really accomplished something, so that was a lot of fun. I had several people ask if I did things on commission. I didn’t know what to say to that, so I just said I hadn’t before but I was open to it. Who knows if anything will ever come of it. If anything did, I don’t think they realize how much materials can cost, so I don’t know if they would still want to go through with it. π These questions were asked by friends, so I was more open to it than if they would have been strangers.
Anyway, now I’m home and recovering. I’m working on Audrey’s sleeves and they are slow going for sure. I’m doing them both at the same time which makes the process seem much longer, but I want to make sure they are even. I’m still loving the yarn but I’m jealous of those who have finished it. As much as I love to knit with the yarn, I want to experience wearing it, too. π
By the way, I still am not used to the new picture function here on typepad, but I’m working on it!
Wow! your birch is beautiful. you look so elegant! and the dress — I think I have the same one, maybe I need a birch too? tempting, tempting…
You site is great! I absolutely love birch – it looks so pretty. Where was the pattern from? I would love to make. So what is one more project on the go?
What a perfect accent for that dress – you look lovely and I agree, it’s hard to believe you made something that compliments a BR dress so perfectly it looks “expensive store bought.” Very well done.
Wow! It looks so great! Your dress is lovely, too, but Birch really makes the outfit. What a wonderful job! No wonder people were asking you if you did stuff on commission…do it, girl! Think: more yarn money….
Birch is beautiful. You did an awesome job. I would love to attempt it. Would you mind letting me know where I can get the pattern? Thanks!
