I’m not going anywhere, but my “friends” are. I feel kind of silly that I am sad about the Friends finale tonight, but I am. For me, it’s not so much that the show is over. Yeah, I’ll miss my Thursday night ritual of watching Friends after I get home from class, but it’s more than that. It’s the end of an era. Friends has been on since I was in High School but I really didn’t start watching it until college. Every Thursday night, my friends and I would huddle around the TV to see what happened that week. We would make references to the show in our daily conversations. When college was over and we made scrapbooks for each other, the entire wedding dress episode script made it into one of them. It is just a little sad to let go of the fun memories that it holds. But, at least we have syndication. Thanks for the laughs and the tears (especially tonight) and for the many happy television memories.
PS I do have knitting news, sort of. I am going to get to wear the dress that goes with Birch for the wedding that I’m in. I don’t know if I’ll wear Birch in the wedding or not, but definitely to the reception. I’ll be sure to take pictures. I tried to take some last night, but I’m just not happy with them. You can see the dress here (in black, not green, although the green is nice too).
My best friend is a Friends addict. She’s having a finale fiesta tonight. We’ll be saying our goodbyes along with you. I think it was so special because they were a group of friends who had the dorm life of college which we all loved. People you hang out with as often as possible; apartments across the hall; friends falling in and out of love with each other. I’ll miss it, too.
I was sad about Friends too. I have personally attempted to have every single one of Rachel’s hairdos, even though she has naturally wavy hair and I have stick straight hair.
We also always used to decided which one of my sisters was which girl..I’m Rachel, my twin sister is Monica (definitely!) and my older sister is Phoebe.
Can’t wait to see the pics!
