Organized

Well, my knitting is organized anyway. Other aspects of my life will have to wait until I get finished with this semester. 🙂 My Secret Pal made it easy to be organized with a special package this weekend! As I saw the mail lady approaching, I was hoping it was for me. My husband usually gets at least one package a week, so the majority of the mail is for him. Well, I was lucky and it was my turn to get a package. Imagine my husband’s surprise when I received a package from the Bass Pro Shop. He said, “Are you sure it’s for you?” Little did he know that knitting presents can be found in the most unexpected places. I had heard of using worm binders for storing circular needles before but had no idea how awesome they were! So, I’ll share their awesome-ness with you.

This is the front of my handy dandy circular needle holder. There is a little zipper compartment behind the bass pro shop emblem and handles at the top so you can carry it like a bag.

When you open it up, you find these great little see-through plastic compartments on the left, just perfect for cable needles, stitch markers, stitch holders, buttons and all sorts of little doo dads. On the right, there are ziploc compartments, just perfect to put circular needles in. But wait, there’s more! There are two such zippered compartments. One is now filled with circular needles and the other holds my small collection of double points.

The minute this came in the mail, I went into my closet and spread everything out on the guest bed, finding the perfect place for each item in the binder. Before that, they were just strewn throughout my yarn closet. Speaking of yarn closets, I have intended to give you a tour for a while, as I love to see how other people store their yarn. Well, my stash is not very neatly stowed, but it is divided into sections.

Please excuse my basic photo editing skills. Anyway, the divisions are noted in the picture. What you don’t see is that there is a bit of a hidden stash on the bottom shelf. My All Seasons Cotton and Calmer have not made it into the shelving system as of yet. I’m hoping to use up some of the acrylic I have making Critter blankets so I’ll have room for the new yarn additions. Unfortunately, my left wrist has been hurting this weekend, so I haven’t made as much progress as I had hoped. I’m almost halfway finished with my first Critter Knitter’s contribution.

Well, I got so into this post that dinner is a burnin’ in the other room. Nothing like a burnt crust on tacos, so I have to go! Here’s to a great week!

  1. Thank you for your post! I have been wanting to see how the binder looks and works and TADA! Here it is! Looks fantastic!

  2. Aren’t those worm bags the best. My DH’s friend brought one back for me from Nashville, TN. It is perfect for all my circs, dpns, and gadgets. When his wife saw how I was using mine she got one for her knitting too. Spread the word, Bass Pro isn’t just for fishermen anymore!
