Thank you guys for your storage advice yesterday! America’s Top Model was just a recap of everything that has happened this season, so instead of watching that, I worked on my yarn closet. I got all of my yarn unpacked and put on the shelves. I also got a great idea from you guys for storing my circular needles. Morgan gave me the ziploc bag idea, which I know I will use while travelling. When Chris mentioned using fishing equipment, I went to an outdoor store’s website to see what I could find. They had these binders with basically ziploc baggies in them. I thought those would be perfect. But, I’m impatient, so I tried to think of something that would be equivalent that I already had at the house. I had just bought a binder with the plastic binder sleeves to store my stationary in, but decided this was more important. 🙂 I have two big plastic drawers that can house my stationary and other crafty projects. So, each needle has it’s own little plastic sleeve. As soon as I locate my needle sizer, then I’ll label each sleeve with a sticky tab so I can instantly go to the correct size. This should also help me to buy the needles I need. I rarely can remember what I already have. So, that was my exciting night last night. Okay, it was pretty low-key, but productive. I’m now very excited about the critter knitters knit-along because I found a ton of acrylic that needs to be used up. I’m also thinking about making a log cabin afghan for the couch with it. T-Bone also loves to snuggle with my yarn and knitting (last night he had his face in my yarn and he chose to lay on the floor with the yarn rather than on the couch with me), so he may need a blanket as well. Anyway, thanks for the help! I am feeling more organized already.
I wish someone had given me a heads up about last night’s episode.
Grrr… *bites her lower lip*
Regardless, I’m glad you were saved from the recap that reality shows are often
known for.
I’m also glad you got around to your yarn chores.
Take care!
Here, I’m going to help you be even more organized — print out a copy of [Knit by] Nora’s needle inventory: http://knitbynora.blogspot.com/Needle%20Inventory.pdf
alison may have beat me to it, but i carry chart with the sizes i own so if i buy a new project i know if i already have the needles. sounds like you have a wonderfully usable closet now! way to go!
