Knitting Correspondent

reliant.jpg

This is the view from the landing outside the door to my apartment and from my living room windows. I know it’s a dark picture, I took it as soon as I got home but it wasn’t soon enough. This, my friends, is Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans and the 2004 Super Bowl. Everyone and their dog are in Houston this week for the Super Bowl. The news every night is dedicated solely to the Super Bowl. Entertainment Tonight has even made special Houston editions each night this week. Jimmy Kimmel is moving in with a Houstonian to cover the big game. There are Entertainment correspondents, Sports correspondents, and Food correspondents. I figure if you can’t beat ’em join ’em and will be your Knitting correspondent.

On the Knitting front, the extra traffic from the Super Bowl has cut into the knitting time a bit. But, this weekend will be spent the way all good knitters spend Super Bowl weekend, in a knitting marathon. We live so close to the stadium that we don’t think we’ll be able to leave all weekend. So, we’re going to buy groceries and rent some movies on Friday so we can go on lock down. In the festivities leading up to Super Bowl weekend, I have completed a flower washcloth and will now enjoy an overtime of weaving in ends. The Ribby Shell is also moving and I’m about five inches into the back. That’s the knitting news from here. Back to you, Bob.

  1. It will be a SuperBowl knitting marathon here on the western edge of Chicago too, as our apartment is laid out such that there is no escaping the sound of the stupid TV or my boyfriend’s cursing outbursts 🙂 Maybe I’ll go hide in the bedroom.
Hope you get a lot done!

  2. Yikes! I didn’t realize you lived so close to the SuperBowl spot. Actually, I just found out today who is playing. Yeah, I’m with it. Have an excellent “knit-in” weekend!
