for now anyway…
There will be no bucket for me for now. I have the perfect yarn for it, but just haven’t had the time to get to any knitting for me. I’ve just been knitting a few gifts here and there and spending some time teaching others to knit (at work and at the SnB). So, I won’t make the bucket in time for Becky’s knit-along, although it has been very inspiring to see some of the finished ones!

the carrot
I am keeping myself motivated to work on gifts for other people with a skein of yarn I picked up at Yarns 2 Ewe the other day. It is the carrot dangling just before me as it is sitting on my end table in plain view. I was so excited to find them because it’s a well organized shop with friendly people, something I hadn’t yet found in my area. It looks like a fun place to sit and knit and they have pizza night on Fridays. Is it nerdy for me to want to spend my Friday night on a sofa in the back of a yarn shop eating pizza? Probably. But, I do. I will definitely keep shopping online, since there is a better selection, but I will support my LYS too so that they stay in business. I’ve got plenty of yarn buying to go around. 🙂

holiday baking
I’ve got to run and prepare treats for our party at work tommorow. I’m making homemade monkey bread, in honor of Jen’s recent marriage. 😉 Okay, not really, but anytime I say monkey I think of her. For those of you who haven’t heard of monkey bread, it’s just little balls of bread rolled into balls and covered with butter, sugar and cinammon before baking. It’s basically like a cinnamon roll that you slice. Tommorow’s party is a brunch so I thought that was appropriate.
