Grover Lives

wearable
So, I finally have pictures of Grover to show you. I actually wore Grover tonight and got a few compliments on it, so I guess it doesn’t look too bad. I don’t like the black zipper, I wish it would match better but it doesn’t stand out as much in real life. So, without further ado….Here’s Grover…

Sorry for the headless photo, the turtleneck I was wearing made me look funny so you just get to see Grover. I’ll show you my smiling face later.

teachable
I learned a ton of stuff from doing Grover. I learned the fine art and value of blocking, since that’s how I got my sleeves to be long enough. I also learned how to do the mattress stitch. Who knew it was so easy to make a nice seam? I picked that up from the SnB book, which has directions that I love not to mention the fun patterns. I don’t like zippers. They are just tedious and I need a sewing machine because hand sewing is not fun to me. And, I learned to be patient, because sometimes there are ways to fix the mistakes that you might make along the way.

dance-able
Following in the footsteps of Becky (one of my favorite knit bloggers), I decided that my first sweater was worthy of a dancing shot. Getting this shot made us laugh so hard. My husband looked at me so funny when I told him that he had to take a picture of me dancing. I promise more creative dance moves soon, but for now, here’s a little cabbage patch for ya.

  1. Sarah, I love Grover! It looks so professional! Really great job. Guess you figured out the pocket problem, huh? I like the black zipper. You and I are both learning a lot about knitting right now from our latest projects. The dancing picture made me laugh…. too cute.

  2. grover looks wonderful! i’m so excited for you – you did a terrific job. 🙂
(and if you’re that worried about it – wear a black shirt under that puppy and the zipper won’t show up at all!)

  3. Way to go, Sarah! Grover looks fantastic. All your hard work has paid off. You must be so happy! Obviously you’re happy enough to dance. (Same thing with my ChicKami: “Um, sweetie, you have to take a picture of me doing a dance. Yes, really.”) 🙂
